   Drug detection durations?
Any or all of the following factors contribute to the length of drug detection in the human body. The amount of drug taken, how frequently the person takes the drug, how the drug was taken (smoked, snorted or injected), the metabolic rate of the user, fluid intake, and age of the user all contribute to detection periods. A general guideline for detection is as follows:

DRUG MINIMUM DETECTION MAXIMUM DETECTION
Amphetamine 2-7 hours after use 2-4 days after use
Methamphetamine 2-7 hours after use 2-4 days after use
Cocaine metabolite 1-4 hours after use 2-3 days after use
Marijuana (THC) 6-18 hours after use Up to 28 days after use depending on frequency
Phencyclidine (PCP) 7 hours after use 3-5 days after use
Opiates (codeine/morphine) 2.5 hours after use 2-3 days after use

Wolfe Drug Testing Inc. is a nationally recognized substance abuse testing administrator with a solid reputation that has stood the test of time. Since 1989, when drug testing became federally mandated, Wolfe has become a leader in the drug and alcohol testing industry and is credited as a premier provider for employee screening services and instant testing kits nationwide. In the workplaces of the real world, we understand the importance of providing the most complete and cost-effective substance abuse testing programs available to employers.

   Wolfe Drug Testing's primary objective?
"To remain the leader in the drug and alcohol testing industry throughout the United States by utilizing both the skills of a highly trained and motivated staff and the latest technological advances while providing innovative products, superior value, and impeccable service to our current and future customers."

   Preferred drug testing lab services?
"Keystone Laboratories, a sister company of Wolfe Drug Testing, is a forensic drug testing laboratory based out of Asheville, North Carolina. The lab maintains College of American Pathologists (CAP) certification and processes non-DOT urine and saliva drug test results. We have developed a specialized chain of custody form that accommodates urine and saliva samples which need traditional testing or confirmation services for instant kits.
At Keystone, each specimen is checked for appropriate pH, specific gravity, and creatinine levels to further ensure the sample has not been diluted or adulterated. Detection of hydromorphone and hydrocodone is included in opiate screening protocols. Customized testing panels are also available to detect commonly abused substances, such as ecstasy and oxycodone, that are not picked up by standard screening protocols."

This system automates the record keeping process by allowing you to track the number of specimens processed by location, manage results from your desktop, and provide cost analyses. Computer generated random selection increases workplace safety. This process uses an algorithm to randomly generate numbers, which are matched with identification numbers.
Our DOT drug testing management programs are designed to maintain your compliance with DOT regulations.
Our staff routinely sets up and facilitates all testing arrangements with collection sites nationwide, working to make them convenient for you and your donors.

Medical review for positive drug test?
Tests confirmed positive at the laboratory should undergo the medical review process to rule out the possibility of a prescription medication or other legitimate reason for the positive result. We will interview the donor to gather prescription information. If the donor is currently under a doctor's care with a valid prescription in their name, the test will most probably be reported back as a negative. It is highly recommended that medical review be performed on any positive test involving a current employee, such as those who are part of a random selection program. "The medical review officer is the balancing force, protecting employee rights, pursuing accurate information and watching out for the safety of all involved."

   Drug test results turn-around time?
Times for each laboratory and collection site vary depending on geographic location and specimen delivery options. The collection site sends specimens out for overnight delivery by DHL, UPS, FedEx, or lab courier. Positives are typically available to begin medical review within 24 hours of lab receipt while opiate positives can take up to 36 hours. Medical review requires the donor to be interviewed before the result is reported out as a positive.
Our cutting edge retrieval technology provides some of the best turn-around times in the testing industry for obtaining drug test results.

Territory covered or serviced by Wolfe?
Finding a collection site is just a phone call away. Our staff routinely sets up and facilitates all testing arrangements with collection sites, working to make them convenient for you and your donors. Your organization will be equipped with all the needed collection supplies, including chain of custody forms, lab packs, airbills, specimen bottles, collection instructions, and/or authorization forms. Customized kit packaging is available to meet your individual needs.

   Consultation and drug testing training?
Training is available for collectors, supervisors, and employees on topics including drug and alcohol related workplace problems, urine and breath alcohol collections, and instant testing product procedures. Policy development services will assist your organization in the implementation of sound substance abuse policies, procedures, and documentation to comply with applicable regulations. When substance abuse testing programs are properly implemented and managed, everyone involved understands the issues pertaining to workplace drug testing.

   Applicable employee drug testing laws?
Federally regulated employees must adhere to guidelines established by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Company policy largely determines the guidelines for non-DOT testing. Laws in some states restrict the use of instant testing devices.

   Instant drug test kit choices?
We understand that no two companies are the same; therefore, we offer an array of urine and saliva drug tests to meet the diversified instant testing needs of our clients. RealityCheck, our exclusively designed dual specimen integrated cup, is available in 3, 5, and 10 panel drug configurations.
Our 5 panel RealityCheck Cup includes an adulterant check to further ensure the laboratory-like accuracy of our instant testing products by detecting several commonly available urine additives donors use to try to beat drug tests. From integrated cups to cards, these devices test for methamphetamine, amphetamine, tetrahydrocannabinol, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, and ecstasy (MDMA) in many configurations. Wolfe Drug Testing also supplies the DOT approved AlcoScreen and Q.E.D. Saliva Alcohol Tests.

   Instant vs. traditional drug testing?
Instant testing is a two-step process. Step 1 is the drug screen being performed at your location. Step 2 involves a confirmation test, which is done at the laboratory, only if the instant drug screen shows a positive (non-negative) result.

   Accuracy of drug testing kits?
Our products are very reliable. Most have passed the rigorous regulations of FDA approval. We will supply detailed performance statistics upon request. It is always best to send any non-negative specimens to be confirmed at a laboratory.

   GC/MS laboratory confirmation?
Non-negative instant test results are backed by GC/MS laboratory confirmation, the most specific of all confirmatory methods. When the product reveals a non-negative result, best practice is confirmation by an alternative methodology (preferably GC/MS) on the same specimen. GC/MS is an extremely accurate procedure that identifies each chemical compound on the basis of its unique molecular structure.

Why use a chain of custody (COC) form?
This form documents the transfer of the specimen from the time of collection through processing at the laboratory. Its use has proven effective in preventing tampering or specimen switching. The COC is an important legal safeguard, since the specimen transfer process is most challenged aspect of drug testing in court proceedings.

   Legally defensible drug testing services?
Wolfe Drug Testing has designed a single four-part chain of custody form to accommodate both traditional testing and instant test results for urine and saliva testing. This form is accepted at several laboratories, including Keystone, to simplify the collection process.

   Methods used to drug test?
Urine, saliva, hair, and blood are four of the most commonly used methods to detect drug use. Each method has advantages and disadvantages. Generally speaking, urine is the most reliable established method of detection. Since the kidneys are the primary route by which drugs and their metabolites are excreted from the body, drugs are easily detected in urine.
Saliva collection is less intrusive and does not require bathroom facilities. Hair testing provides a longer window of detection, but is a more costly option that requires a more complicated collection process.
